Below are photos of our Rotary Club Centennial Project.

The above photo shows a picture of the mural created by artists
Ginny Sykes and Corinne Peterson, along with the children
in the Naperville area.

This large mosaic mural is the product of a wonderful collaboration between two nationally known artists, Ginny Sykes and Corinne Peterson and about 180 children from the Naperville area. Incorporating numerous, textures, shapes, patterns and colors, this piece is perfect for our young audience that takes in so much information through their senses, while also addressing our special audience of children with sensory needs. Children had a great part in every aspect of this project, from conception through design and creation of the artwork.

The mobile above the water table is another project funded
by the Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise.
The combination of a wonderful artist, Christine Rojek and ample funding from our friends at Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise allowed the DuPage Children's Museum to offer children a rare opportunity - to work in metal. A material not often used with young children, it is Christine's usual medium and the funding meant  we were able to afford the extra class session it required. Using metal, a material that would endure moisture, above the water table, a space visible to all who pass by the museum. Connecting with the science of water, the heart of that area, Christine was truly able to blend the actual work of the children with her artistic skills and sense. This piece is a beautiful example of what can be accomplished when artists work with children.
